In our final installment, let's get to the defenders who are hitting the market about an hour from now.

    Paul Kruger, OLB, Baltimore Ravens

Kruger looks to be headed to Cleveland, barring a massive offer from another team at the last minute. Expect this one to get done quickly.

    Prediction: Moving to Lake Erie

    Cliff Avril, DE, Detroit Lions

After flirting with Cleveland and Indianapolis all weekend, the Avril to the Colts train looks to be leaving the station based on the Kruger rumors. I'm guessing some other pass rusher needy teams will get in late ...

Every year, teams overspend in free agency. It's the nature of the beast in restricted market conditions. By the time older, more finished products get to the market in limited quantities, no matter how flawed, the lower supply drives up the demand, and, as economics reminds us, the price.

This year, there are some offensive talents who could be top shelf, if you're willing to overlook some flaws. Here's a look at a few of them who are heading to tomorrow's free agent frenzy.

    Mike Wallace, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers

You're never going to see a guy like Megatron hit the free agent market (even Randy Moss was traded in his ...

It's as American as apple pie, and as inevitable as death and taxes. Every year around this time, players whose value no longer exceeds the price paid to them by their current team are terminated and allowed to seek new employment elsewhere.

And inevitably, some of those players end up contributing elsewhere.

In 2013, here's the list of guys you'll want to watch as free agency rapidly approaches. Based on when they were/are to be cut, some of them may be eligible to sign now.

The Countdown to NFL New Year's Afternoon now stands at five days (and counting down), but after midnight (roughly 4 pm Eastern) strikes on Tuesday, some players are inevitably going to move, and not by the choice of free agency.

This year's trade market features a number of potential targets and suitors. I'll examine a few here with the pros and cons of the available player as well as some projected landing spots.

Darrelle Revis, Cornerback, New York Jets

Pros: Revis Island is available, and it's looking for a new harbor to anchor down in for the long term.
Cons: Coming off an ACL injury.

Hello there, and welcome to the Countdown to NFL New Year series, a six-day look at what's coming up when the proverbial clock strikes midnight on the new league year this Tuesday at 4 pm Eastern.

While no balls will be dropping on Tuesday afternoon (they save that for mini-camps), the new league year will bring the beginning of another long offseason of player movement that will impact contenders and rebuilders alike come September. Today, I start our look at the upcoming festivities with a look at those players who aren't going anywhere, well, unless someone ponies up two first round picks that is.
