New home, new faces

Gooooooooooooooooood morning PSH!!!

Or evening or afternoon, depending on your geographic location and what time you read this, but I digress.

Welcome to the newest edition of a little thing I like to call "The Woof," your best source for witty weekly Browns commentary as well as stories from around the league.

Alright, let's get down to business. Been a busy week up in Berea with the signings and releases and snubs and such.

Finally, someone up there got my message that, oh by the way, our offensive line stinks worse than the Cuyahoga did in the 60's, and that's saying something. To this end, Phil "GOoD" Savage brought in former Patriots guard Joe Andruzzi, one of the toughest guards in football, and had former Bucs guard Cosey Coleman in over the weekend, although I don't believe a deal was signed (yet).

On the other side of the football, the loss of CB Anthony Henry to the Cowboys was offset by the addition of CB Gary Baxter, formerly of the Ravens. The fact that he is every bit as good as Henry is great, but the fact that we also hurt the Ravens in the process is what has me stoked about this move.

Wait, this just in, the Ravens signed Samari Rolle, crap, there goes that plus...

Anyways, another huge addition happened on the defensive side of the ball when DT Gerard Warren was dealt to the Broncos for a 4th round draft choice in this year's draft, the same draft choice that was later traded for QB Trent Dilfer of Seattle. I'll get to that in a minute.

Oh by the way, that's called addition by subtraction of a failed Butch Davis draft choice

Onto Dilfer. I haven't been this excited about a veteran quarterback being added to the Browns roster since...wait, never have been particularly enthused by the signing of a veteran quarterback... Well, I can say one positive thing about Dilfer: he's the BTH quarterback, Better Than Holcomb.

Speaking of Holcomb, Kelly managed to take a deal that a. took him to Buffalo for less money than the Browns offered and b. made him the permanent backup to a second year quarterback.

Wait, so now he's a backup? Could somebody go back in time and tell Butch Davis this shiny tidbit two years ago before he wrecked the team and Tim Couch's career? Thanks.

Raiden's Non-Football Thought of the Week:

Kinda football thought this week. I'd just like to say it's great to be on a site with a bunch of great football fans. Many props to Datruth, Rock, and all the other admins for giving me this great opportunity.

Outside the Dawg Pound

Dallas overspent, the Raiders got Randy, and the Redskins...saved money?

Wait, is it just me, or is that the sky rushing towards the ground? DUCK!!! SNYDER'S CLOSED HIS WALLET!!!

The Woof: Logo Contest

For the second time in as many months, I'm having a logo contest to replace old Elfy up at the top. Check out the Design Shop for how to join.

See you next week, but until then, bark loud, bark proud, or don't bark at all. Go Browns!
