Jurevicius Loss Cannot Be Overstated
By Chris "Raiden" Grewe, PSH Columnist
Volume 5, Issue 2
The loss of Joe Jurevicius to a knee injury isn't just a blow to the
Browns' receiving corps and playoff chances, it's a blow to all of us
who grew up dreaming of wearing the orange and brown.
In the past few offseasons, guys who grew up rooting for the dawgs like
Brady Quinn, Joe J, Dave Zastudil, and LeCharles Bentley have had shots
to make their mark in orange helmets. Of those, the most successful has
been...Zastudil, the punter.
Jurevicius was a steady receiver, nothing spectacular, but an
inspiration to the fans with all he'd been through. He even added a bit
of flair to his game, making the first down sign on first down catches
"for the fans."
For anyone who grew up dreaming of playing for the Browns, Jurevicius'
play was an inspiration and a real shot in the arm to the dream. I'm
sad to say that's now over, and to root for one of our own (barring a
Derek Anderson injury), we now have to look forward to...punts! Go Bay
Village native Dave Zastudil!
Raiden's Other Sports Exist Note of the Week
C.C. Sabathia has been dominant. How dominant? He just pitched his
third consecutive complete game, and has given up only five runs in
four starts, all wins, since being acquired. Seriously, if this guy
wasn't worth $126 million, who was?
Outside the Dawg Pound
Brett Favre continued his will he won't he will he won't he will he won't he will he ah screw it...I've lost track already.
The Bold Prediction
The Patriots will continue their genius run of outsmarting everyone
else by...following the rules, and bending them ever so slightly...to
the tune of 12 guys on the PUP list...the
Bold Prediction...some
low level employee in the marketing department of another franchise is
now kicking himself for thinking of it and not telling Coach...
