Volume 2, Issue 3
Ok, sooooo I'm a few weeks late on a new column. So sue me (not really, you can't have my milk crate dorm furniture without a fight!), a little something called the new MVP system came up.
And now that that's (almost) done, column time my faithful pups.
Alright, so here's the general activity from the last few weeks in Berea:
.....(*crickets chirping in the background)
Ok, signed Doug Johnson, kicked Ross Verba to the curb and...yeah...pardon me, I seem to be searching for a word to describe the flurry of activity....oh yeah, here it is, NOTHING!
Sooo...maybe, just maaaybe, June isn't the best time to have a weekly football column (no kidding eh?).
(before this turns into Raiden's Random Ramblings, let's move on...)
Raiden's Non-Football Thought of the Week
Win 9, lose 4, win 3...
Just your typical summer in Cleveland with the Indians surging, slumping, surging, slumping...yeah, it gets old after a while, but progress is being made!
Outside the Dawg Pound
(*Crickets...)
Will return next week, when hopefully SOMETHING, ANYTHING happens (or at worst, in two weeks with a supplemental draft preview detailing every single player in it, yeah, all 6 of them...).
Kellnievel Winslow
This really needs to become a weekly feature, doesn't it?
Ok, here goes...
This week in the life of Kellnievel Winslow:
Monday - Apologize at yet another press conference called to have a statement read by my doctor (while I stand in the back laughing at the whole farce)
Tuesday - Doctor's appointment
Wednesday - power lift...Wendy's cheeseburgers, oh yeah!
Thursday - Issue public statement, lift some, then surf the web to Harley.com to start looking for my next toy (contracts be damned)
Friday - Return money to the Browns
Saturday - Sleep in, watch TIVOed reruns of The O.C. from Thursday, sleep some more.
Sunday - ...yeah...nothing...
Barks and Growls
Reading through the old columns, I saw this little feature in some of the older ones, and I decided, gee, it's the offseason, I'm bored, let's bring it back shall we. As a refresher, barks = good, growls = bad.
Bark: Phil Savage and Romeo Crennel: by bringing in Doug Johnson, you've ensured Charle Frye won't see the field until at least Week 3 (after Dilfer and Johnson go down in weeks 1 & 2).
Growl: The US Supreme Court: in one week's time, you've a. killed filesharing as we know it (or at least opened up the companies to massive lawsuits), and b. changed eminent domain so that it can be used for massive PRIVATE construction projects for the public good. Not bad for a bunch of old people who seem to have lost touch with the rest of the country...
The Final Thought
Check out the new MVP Information page in your User Control Panel. I spent many hours perfecting it, so give it a shot, and leave feedback in the MVP Forum.
I shall return next week with a new edition of The Woof, and hopefully I'll have some more football related content than this week.
