Its the off season, crazy things happen. That is when the true Crunk comes out in everyone. As the big dot com's are busy writing about who is doing what off the field, and who is going to win the Super Bowl on the field. I thought true football fans would enjoy something far more pertinent, who will make those last minute splashes before the season starts? Now not every team will make a move, but I have included every single one here and what Whacky last minute move they might pull off, therefore you might see one guy listed with more than one final zip code....its all part of the madness that is .....
CrAzY CrUnKeD-uP Rumors!
....read on to see who is most apt to do what.........
Team... Whacky factor
Hey who needs a wide out, the news out of Beantown will be who and how many Wide outs they will let go of...Reche Caldwell you have a call on line one, Reche line one please.....
Johnthan Vilma trade bait? Come on you gots to be kidding me? No sir I am not, the Whack factor is high on this one but don't be surprised it could happen.
Chump dumping in chum land, Daunte Culpepper or as you may now call him peg leg pepper is on his, well on his last leg so to speak....its do or die time for the QB/Agent. The Fins, would trade Pepper for a pinch of salt, but the truth is they will probably dump him at the next corner.
Should I stay or should I go, the road to the championship leads through Buffalo's 6 Billion dollar line and with Spikes, Fletcher, Clements and McGhaee off the roster they bought two average offensive linemen, who do you think they will jettison if things don't look worth a Billion?
Can't keep a good bird down, who has a QB to spare? Jake Plummer out of retirement and in Poeville next? Hey why not? Seriously though, what about Culpepper? eh?
Just looking for a free agent with a clean record, if he can play defense that is a plus, look for an aging defender to be dropped by someone and for the Bengals to pick him up at league minimum......
I would bet a dollar to a donut that Faneca is being quietly shopped around the league. Come on, if he were going to kiss and make up to the new coach don't you think he would have done it by now?
Corey Simon? I can see it now, don't condition my man, eat this case of Ho-ho's, and waddle of the field on passing downs sound like a gig you might dig?
Only in the NFL can a team win the Superbowl with the 29th ranked defense, lose 4 starters on that same defense and draft a WR to help them improve, yeah doesnt make sense. Look for the Colts to try and peddle Corey Simon for anything they can get to either the Bills or the Niners, with the Niners being the more likely.
Here is a secret, they want Culpepper. Here is the reality if they go Pepper they better be ready willing and able to dump Leftwich in a hurry. IF it goes down look for a three team swap, who needs a QB that has a pick or a DB to spare?
Biggest rumor out of Tennessee, the Titans have nailed one of Vince Youngs cleats to the turf, no wait, that was just the biggest joke. I just want to say this, "Reche Caldwell please pick up the red courtesy phone"
I will spread this rumor far and wide, The Texans will find a way to acquire Alan Faneca if the Browns don't/wont.
The news here is no news, everyone is so new in the front office they won't acquire anyone else. Not much of a rumor or a fact.
They will be changing their uniforms to more closely match that of their farm squad the Cleveland Browns. In other news, they probably won't make any more flashy moves, unless somehow getting Plummer back as back up.
Larry Johnson, trade bait, that is all I gotta' say, you won't believe it, I don't believe it, but its out there.......
Al Davis is just crazy enough to sign whatever recievers the Pats drop.
Kevin Kolb will be the starter....I am totally kidding... they have had enough trauma and drama this off season with the coaches kids, how will McNabb recover; how does he feel about drafting a QB etc etc...
Snatching up Asante Samuel in a trade? Don't doubt it...not for a NY minute.
Re-signing Vanderjagt...What a thought, oiy what a nightmare.
Is it just me to notice that the Redskins are too quiet this off season? Look for this to be the unidentified third party that has that DB to spare.
The Bears are going to set Grossman on the bench in favor of?..........pick a back up, any back up.... personally it just seems right to me to go with Griese, not because its the right choice, just because it seems like the choice they make.
Brett Farve looks for solace, and an offensive line, Another Alan Faneca sighting...he is like a UFO everyone saw something but was it just a weather balloon?
I want to say they welcome Daunte Culpepper back with open arms.....that would be a huge rumor, but it just won't happen. I look for them to stand pat with what they have.
Well can we be safe to say they won't make a move for a wide out? Lance Briggs on the other hand......but he is in the same division, the Lions are the NFL equivalent of land locked, no moves here.....
Quarterbacks wanted, anyone have a QB? Oh wait, maybe they have enough. These guys may make a small move but other than that they stand pat as well.
They are more apt to release a name than to sign one, who do you think it will be?
Michael Vick gets suspended or released, they do better than ever, once they adjust and Vick ultimately gets dropped by the Birds
Marques Colston admits he is actually left handed. SERIOUSLY though the Saints don't know it yet....Jason David is NOT their answer at DB, look for them to try and make a super quick fix late in the season.
Edgerrin James released! Dennie Green Re-hired! all the things you wont here in this prediciton. The Fact is they probably won't make any serious moves from here on out
sigh, Alan Faneca Sighting whoop-whoop, and put a side order of Reche Caldwell in there to boot big movers at the last minute.
Corey Simon, this is more of a Crunked up hope than a prediction, but Lance Briggs, Larry Johnson or any of the Patriot cast off's INCLUDING an Asante Samuel Sign and trade are all possibilities.
They need a lot but they are most likely to do a little. I would say for the Rams, they will stand on what they have, a small acquisition may not be out of the question but a big move would surprise me
