The teams rumored the most are the Packers and Eagles. Packers currently have Graham Harrell as their backup QB. Eagles have Mike Kafka as their backup. It would certainly make sense if the price is right

Colt McCoy on the Eagles?? Hhhmmmm....

I could see him playing a similar role like Garcia was able to at the time.

What I don't get is the Browns organization. I mean, how poorly ran can this organization get? Why did they draft McCoy in the first place? Talk about a total waste of a project to where they only give him a year for the most part with zero weapons, and then they draft this other rookie who is an older QB in Weeden. I don't think they've seen enough out of either QB to know who might be the better guy. It might be Weeden by a long shot in the end, but what are the odds that Weeden might not be that good either?? As the Steelers and the Ravens begin to start aging more, it shouldn't be to hard for the Bengals to take over this division, because the Browns shouldn't be that much of a threat.

I think this stems mostly from last year's Steeler's game and the concussion. I didn't figure Colt to be a Brown as long as he has already been, but not surprised he's on the trade block. I actually think Cleveland has done a good job of perhaps actually getting at least something in return for Colt.

I think things like this get overblown. Same thing happened to Drew Stanton in Detroit. He was drafted in 2007 and Stafford was drafted in 2009. No one cried about him not getting a chance and Detroit didn't suffer at all for making that choice. You never know when you might be in a position to get a good QB, so you take one when they come. Then to be in that position again that soon would be awfully tempting to take another guy and move the first one. I'd like to see Colt get another shot somewhere else with decent weapons, but it's not surprising to see a 2nd rounder moved this soon.
You had a chance........until we stepped on the field.

While I'm not at all a believer in McCoy's abilities, I do think it's a tough situation given the lockout last year. I think it's hard to judge a player's progress without a full camp to prep. I think we're gonna see a lot of young guys who didn't do well last year break out this year.

I don't think either situation is comparable Hawkeye. Stanton never really showed anything to make anyone think he was some big time QB potentially. I think that Colt showed some of that his rookie season. Since than though, he has had a horrible team to play with, and not a good chance to succeed at all. Plus, the Lions had the #1 draft pick and got the best QB of the draft who looked like he would be a potential stud. He had everything going for him. Weeden is totally not anything close to what the potential looked like behind Stafford. Had the Browns done all of this and gotten Luck or RG3, than I'd agree and that would be a comparable example. But a 28 year old QB who might not even be any better than Colt at all isn't nearly the same thing. No one was going to ever question whether or not if Stafford would probably be better than Stanton, and Stafford wasn't 28 years of age.

ANd for the record, I'm not trying to knock Weeden by any means. He might end up being pretty good, but he is going to be in just as bad of a situation as Colt was practically, and the Browns are a few years from being a really good team which would probably put Weeden into his 30's by than. He might be better than Colt, but given the situation they have I don't think he'll be able to do a lot more right away.
