Vikings draft Kalil at 4, trade up to select Harrison Smith.

Solid first round from Spielman. 1 automatic starter, and another who should have every opportunity to start.

The book is out there on Kalil so I don't have much to add, should help Ponder immensely as he will not have to look over his shoulder as much.

Smith is the best cover 2 safety in the draft. He is easily the most talented player in the Vikings corps of safety and will likely start at SS with Husein Abdulhah at FS. The Vikings secondary will look a lot better with him back there.

It pains me to say it as a Lions fan but I think the Vikings had the best first round easy. Cleveland moved up, they still got there guy, and got who I believe to be the best safety in the draft. Defiantly think they got two starters with high upside.
