If Tebow is simply a gimmick, a wildcat option, why did he immediately get promoted to 2nd string and Drew Stanton run out of town? Pretty sure Ronnie Brown was never the #2 QB in Miami.

The only fallacy from the Jets is this. If Mark Sanchez is a bad QB who should have some competition, why a QB who's been even worse?

I don't care, this trainwreck will simply be a joy to watch.

This is simple the Jets believe that Sanches IS the future of the franchise as he has the potential to be an elite QB in this league. They bring in Tebow because he's a solid Wildcat QB and their new OC is the renowned Wildcat Guru. Tebow is a QB who has won alot of games including a playoff game, so he's got a resume that will pressure Sanchez to up his game. While the Jets believe in Sanchez they also recognize that he's not progressings as well as they would hope so they felt the need to nudge him a little.

Lastly Tebow ISN'T the worst passer in the league, He's made plenty of plays with his arm, I'm sure any steeler's fan reading can attest to this. Trent Edwards (last I checked he still has a roster slot in philly) is the worst passer in the league, not only can trent not make plays with his arm, he outright refuses to most of the time.

Mmm...I think the Steelers would like to have that defensive game plan back. But OK, Tebow took what they gave him and won a playoff game in style, no one can deny that.

I don't have a problem with Tebow. I just don't believe a team can win with a QB tandem, and if Tebow is supposed to get 20 snaps a game, that's a tandem.

But it's the Jets, so I say go for it, make history And I'll be eating crow if they do.

If anything, they might have success at first, but long term, there is no way this works out, the defenses will catch on pretty quickly

I don't even think this is going to be successful at First. No team since the dolphins that year have been really successful in using a H-Back direct formation. Teams across the league know how to defend against it now. The major problem is there is no surprise to it anymore, if your H-Back (or even worse your Wild-cat specialist QB) is behind center teams just play a soft zone and try not to over commit into a reverse.

It's going to be worse for the Jets because there will be this big hoopla every time tebow walks onto the field. Best case scenario is you can get him to line up as a splitback with sanchez. however This doesn't work because either you snap to sanchez and run a normal play, or you snap to tebow and have 10-men on the field because sanchez isn't very physical at all, and isn't the kind of guy to lay a block on someone.
