The Jets recently extended Mark Sanchez. 2 weeks later, they trade for Tim Tebow?
Is there any plan here at all?

It's a way for them to bench Sanchez in game without actually benching Sanchez, just by simply saying the Wildcat-esque stuff was working.

It tells me they really don't want Sanchez and are trying to find a way to get a hold of someone who is/could be better, however since their draft spot isn't high, and they missed out on Peyton Manning, they have no way of dumping Sanchez without having the title of 'rebuilding' go around... I think they are just trying to avoid that term

Add to that, the Jets signing free agent Drew Stanton a couple weeks ago, then sending him to Indy after picking up Tebow.![]()

Obv the Jets and the Dolphins are tripping over themselves to Occupy the Bills spot in the division.

I have to be sure to watch the Jets first home game this year....the new stadium may get nuked when Sanchez throws his first pick.

This thread and the responses within tell me that you guys are heavily over thinking this.
Did any of you actually watch Tim Tebow play last season? There is no reason for ANYONE to believe at this point that he represents any kind of a post-Sanchez plan.
The signs are rather obvious. What happened to the Jets last season? It wasn't Sanchez who failed. He didn't excel but he didn't fail, his numbers weren't bad. What happened is a team that was built to live by it's defense and running game didn't defend very well and struggled to establish it's ground game as a cornerstone of their offense. Subsequently Sanchez and his extremely predictable offense run by a guy with the last name Schottenheimer were asked to throw the ball much more than they should have been, and in the process they shifted from a ground and pound team to one forced to rely on a 35 year old receiver who hadn't played football in 2 years and another receiver who is a cancer to his locker room. Sanchez struggled in that situation.
So here we are a year later and the Jets are making moves trying to right the ship. They got rid of the Schottenheimer and have slightly retooled the defense. That first change is the most important though because who did they bring in to replace the son of the guy with the most predictable offense of the modern era? They brought in former Miami Dolphin head coach Tony Sparano to run the offense, yes the same Tony Sparano who presided over Miami when it became the wildcat capital of the NFL.
What have the Jets said this whole time? Tim Tebow is there to run the wildcat. Tim Tebow may be one of the best wildcat QB options in the league, he's certainly got the skillset for it. Has it dawned on any of you that the Jets may infact be telling the truth and that they actually did intend to bring in Tebow to run a package their offensive coach has had a lot of success with on a team that could use an offensive spark?
Considering how Tebow has faired as an every down QB I don't know why any of you would even question what the Jets' intentions are here as they seem rather obvious to me. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, most of you just blindly hate Sanchez.
Carry on.

Well, Tebow isn't any better than Orton either, and look how that turned out.
Don't you know, Phil, Tebow is a WINNER!![]()

That was the fans doing though, it was never the plan of the coaches or front office to go in that direction. That isn't to say that the Jets couldn't end up there if Sanchez failed, only that I don't think it's in any bodies plan right now because it wouldn't make any sense for that to be the plan.
