    Vikings Sign TE John Carlson

    http://www.twincities.com/vikings/ci...nus-escalating

Didn't see a thread for this so i figured I'd start one. Interesting signing. Not the move I expected, but I don't see Minnesota as an attractive landing place for any of the top quality free agents, and John Carlson is a MN native that seems to want to be here.

I hope that this time the Vikings will actually utilize their 2 talented pass catching TE's, and not let one ride the pine.

11 Million guaranteed is a lot for a guy with his injury history so there certainly is some risk. But all in all I think it's an OK move, and I hope something is in the pipeline.

Two tight end offenses can be really effective. Of course New England is an extreme example, but the Lions are another good example of getting two TE's involved. Carlson and Rudolph sounds like a dangerous combination.
