Cleico What position should Cleveland target in the first round?

I think there is a good chance that RGIII is still on the board when the Browns are on the clock and I think he should be their pick. It would generate buzz and sell tix and jerseys and that is off the field. I think the kid has the skills to be a good NFL QB. He also presents the best value at this spot....even if Blackmon or Claiborne are still on the board.

Wow, the Cleveland pick is really intriguing now. Manning goes to Denver, which leads to him not going to Tennessee, which leads to Matt Hasselbeck not rejoining Holmgren in Cleveland (unless the Titans cut him late, like Jacksonville did with Garrard last year).

    MAtt Flynn is in Seattle.

Kyle Orton and Jason Campbell were probably the next nest FA choices, and both are off the table as well.

    Leaving who?

Is Cleveland going to continue on with McCoy, or will they try to take a guy like Josh Johnson and make him a starter, or are they almost forced now to go with the next best QB in the draft? Ryan Tannehill at 4th overall??? To me, that would be a much bigger reach than even CAm Newton at #1 or Mark Sanchez at #5.

Cleveland needs a receiver, period end of story. That receiver can be a traditional WR or it can be a playmaking TE, whatever, Colt Mccoy or whoever is under center for the Browns next season needs some help in a big way. Massoquoi simply isn't an every down guy, he's a big play guy and they're misusing him asking him to be their premier wideout. AND CAN WE PLEASE GIVE UP ON THIS JOSH CRIBBS **** NOW?!?!?!?!? I've been clamoring for people to give up on this dude as a wideout for a few years now. 7 years in the league and Cribbs hit his career high in receiving yardage last season with 518 yards. 518!!!! CAREER HIGH!!!!! I think the experiment is over and has been a massive failure. Maybe Cribbs serves as an interesting #3..... maybe. Maybe he can be a productive wild card in the slot who you can get in space and generate the occasional mismatch and subsequent big play but as an outside receiver he stinks.

Mccoy looks to have some potential, but even if he ends up being horrible you aren't going to have much success with any QB you throw out there with that personnel. Get some help on the outside and find a RB.

That's the problem Phil, Cribbs was supposed to be the three behind Robiskie (never developed) and Massaquoi.

I want Blackmon. We need a gamebreaker on offense, and the guy can score.

Agree with Phil again on this one.

Blackmon is a no brainer here. Get that play making franchise WR that Edwards was supposed to be for you guys.

I still think the call here is still QB. Although past luck and RG3 anyone they target is going to be a reach in the top 5.

Borderline elite wide receiver/running back/cornerback/tackle or a second to third round quality quarterback who's flying up the charts for no apparent reason other than need?

No thanks, I'll take another year of McCoy with some actual talent around him.

Let's say the Browns select Trent Richardson with their first pick. Blackmon will most likely be taken by St. Louis. Even Michael Floyd could be gone by the time the Browns are on the clock again. Can a strong case be made for going after Coby Fleener? He could be the solid underneath target that the Browns have been lacking.
