If you don't like bad puns, this is not the headline writer for you.

The Vikings are making the switch, Christian Ponder is their guy at quarterback, sending Donovan McNabb to the bench for the second consecutive year.

    BOOOOOOO @ the headline.

The move itself worries me some. I still like my team to win, but the Packers are going into this game blind against Ponder...they have no tape on him except for meaningless preseason footage, and have no idea what to expect.

This happened two years ago, when Josh Freeman debuted for Tampa, his first game was home against the Pack, and it resulted in Tampa's first win that year. Hoping history won't repeat itself.

Good move. I'm excited to see what the kid has. I'm anxiously awaiting the status of Sullivan/Loadholt, because while the line's play hasn't been stellar, it was improving going into last week, and it absolutely fell apart when they lost their starting center and RT. Ponder will be running for his life if those guys aren't back IMO.

He was running alright. It was like he was a gazelle and Clay Matthews was a lion. He showed well though for his first game against a defense that was bringing a lot of pressure. Vikings played without their top WR too. We'll see if there's steady improvement as the season goes on.

Bernard Berrian is not even close to the Vikings top receiver.

He's not? Then who is...apparently they must not have one.

Percy Harvin, Michael Jenkins, and Devin Aromashadu have all outperformed Berrian. If we expand to TE's/RB's Shaincoe Kyle Rudolph, and AD can make that claim as well.

Berrian is garbage. Don't be surprised if he ends up cut this week.

And i'm not going to disagree that the Vikings lack a good set of receivers. They are closer than you may think though. Jenkins has moved the chains fairly well and would be a solid man to have as a #2. Percy Harvin is a great slot reciever, but like most slot receivers needs other guys around him to free him up. This team needs a true #1, which was why I advocated for Julio Jones around draft time... The Vikings need to come out of the next offseason with a true #1 receiver.

My targets: Blackmon or Jeffrey in the draft. Vincent Jackson, Reggie Wayne or Dwayne Bowe in free agency.

They can't cut him this week. Harvin supposedly has a rib injury and I'm not sure he plays this week.

Vikings could get by without him. Jenkins/Armomashadu/Camarillo will be sufficient since they don't utilize many 4 WR sets anyway. Webb has been practicing as both a WR and a QB so if they need to spread 4 wide they could use him. Shiancoe is capable of lining up as a reciever as well as Kyle Rudolph. There are also 2 WR's on the practice squad who are more likely to have an impact on a game than Berrian.
