    Detico Suh fined $20,000

Ndamukong Suh has apparently been fined $20,000. Either that, or he uses the #nfl and #BIGFAIL hashtags for everything and is upset about a bill for a supposedly all you can eat buffet (defensive tackles eat more than regular people).

Good message to send. If this was the first QB he tried to decapitate in the preseason, I'd let this one slide. But he's quickly developing a reputation as a dirty player.

It does appear that way but I think the word "relentless" or "ruthless" may be more appropriate

The fine is good. But the play wasn't dirty, certainly not when compared to Delhomme last year. It looks like Dalton's helmet came off not because of Suh, but because of Cliff Avril. Suh finished him off, violently I suppose, but we're talking a man-child when compared to the ragdoll QB's he has to play against. That play probably doesn't get flagged if Dalton's helmet had stayed on.

It still gets flagged, Dalton didn't have the ball.

Fine line there. Lots of QB's get dropped after releasing the ball, most of the time, it's not a flagged call. You can't simply ask the defender to stop in their track. I'm fairly certain Suh knew the ball was gone, but I don't know that 100%. He has every right to finish the play if he believes that's where the ball is.

Except that was a point of emphasis last year, and he's a previous offender. There's no leeway for him there.

And it wasn't a dropped thing, he threw him down.

He didn't finish the play... he made an extra move to tear the guy down in a different direction. Therein lies the problem. It is not like he came in and just shoved him. He tore him down in a completely new direction after the ball was gone. The whole thing was extra curricular.

Hence, why I agree with the penalty and the fine. But again, if he thought the ball was still there, he has the right to tackle him, and tackle him he did.

Not under the new rules, he doesn't have that right. He has to be aware of where the ball is, that's part of the job now.
