Nfcico West winner will be .500 or worse

Thanks to losses today by both the Rams and Seahawks, no team in the NFC West can finish better than .500 this season, AND the 49ers are inexplicably still alive at 5-9.

St. Louis visits San Francisco this week before finishing up on the road at Seattle. Seattle has Tampa Bay this week. San Francisco will finish the year at home against Arizona.

    Who wins this mess?
    RIP Jay

RD, St. Louis hosts San Fran this week, not the other way around. Because that's a home game, I'll give the Rams the edge, and for the same reason, take away that edge against Seattle the last week.

    Rams - 7-9

Seattle has to make the 2nd longest trip in football, behind only the Seattle-Miami distance, and that won't help them. They're a bad team going that far away from home. I don't see a win. Like I said, for basically the same reasons I'm taking them to win their last one.

    Seahawks - 7-9

As for San Fran, this week is obviously do or die for them. No matter how bad they are, they should beat the Cardinals right now. I'm going to say a loss in St. Louis, eliminating them, then finishing at home with a win.

    49ers - 6-10

Right now, St. Louis is listed as the division leader, so I'm assuming they hold the tie-breaker, but if the results go as I said above, Seattle will have a 4-2 division record to th Rams' 3-3, with an even head to head, so I'm assuming Seattle would take the division in that scenario.

Of course, if the Niners win out, and the Rams beat the Seahawks, who beat the Bucs, then what?

    3 teams at 7-9.

San Fran would be 5-1 in division, Rams 3-3, and Hawks 3-3. Seattle would have the split with the Niners, but would the Niners still be in? I would think so. For every imaginable reason, I am hoping for that scenario.

I agree with an announcer I heard, at team should have to be .500 or better to make the playoffs, if no one reaches .500 in the West, there should be no playoff team from the West and there should be a 3rd Wild Card
