Recent Site Changes

Please excuse our dust, we're in the midst of a remodel at Pigskin Heaven.

The team and conference forums have been condensed down in order to speed up the site a bit and open up new lanes of discussion on the site. Also, every NFL team now has a thread prefix that is available in their respective division forum.

You'll also see an increase in the amount of original content coming out of the site as well. Our writing staff and our draft team are working on a ton of original content that you'll only find here on Pigskin Heaven. Our focus is on creating the best football community and website on the web.

A large part of that for the past six years has been the forums here, and that will continue for the foreseeable future. We're also coming up with new ways to integrate that experience with our content creation, and we'll be unveiling a new feature here in the coming weeks called The Best of PSH, which will feature the very best in analytical posts from our forums as standalone articles that are promoted through our home page.

Finally, we're doing more with social media integration throughout the site. In each of our original articles and prospect scouting reports, you'll now see a "Tweet This" button, which can be used to automatically post our articles and scouting reports to your Twitter account. This helps to promote the site and increase the traffic here, which of course leads to more members being active in the community as well. As always, our best form of advertising is by word of mouth (or keyboard) to your friends and family.

Having forums for divisions rather than teams is embarrassing.

I agree with you on that account, but I also see it from the perspective of the admins. It's better to have eight forums that have multiple threads in them daily than 32 forums, where some might go for a month or so without any activity whatsoever. Condensing them is a move to promote activity. Plus, you know as well as I do, that even with 100-plus users a day, some of the team forums will struggle to have any sort of activity. I imagine that the team forums will return in time, when activity demands it.

Shame isn't as big a priority for us as it apparently is for you.

Addressing the more positive outlookers, RD didn't touch on this, but our plan entails having a larger focus on individual teams, but in a different manner that what we have now. That's still in development though but we're definitely not going to reduce team content.

That's the plan.

As LA eluded to, there will be team pages and team focused content coming down the pike. This is only step one in a long process and is by no means a finished product.

One thing I forgot to mention, we are looking for writers and folks to join our draft team. Hit up this thread to apply.

We are continually adapting these changes to make PSH in all forms and fashions adaptable to the new landscape of personal media and devices as well as the blog, and info sharing changes that have taken over most of the WWW
