Cleico Browns likely to chase Bradford/Clausen?

John Clayton says the Browns are likely to try to move up to chase Sam Bradford or Jimmy Clausen on draft day.

I'm not entirely certain that's the case, and if it is, with next year's crop of quarterbacks, I'm not exactly happy about it. If they're looking QB, I'd much rather go Colt McCoy in the second, who is a great fit in the west coast scheme, and grab a game changer in the first round, like Eric Berry or Joe Haden.

If they didn't pick up Wallace I may agree with that but it is not likely with 3 maybe good QB options on the roaster.

I can't see how anyone can think Clausen would be better than Quinn. Oh, and before some idiot comes in and says they just traded Quinn away, they had Quinn and they let him go, so they're dumping one ND QB to chase another that isn't quite as good.

I think Clausen is a LOT better than Quinn. ....A LOT LOT better. Quinn's biggest issue is timing and accuracy, which happens to be Clausen's strength. Quinn is probably a better run/jump athlete, but other than that, I dont think there is a single quality that Quinn has that is better than Clausen, so I dont agree at all with your assessment that he isn't as good as Quinn. I actually think it's pretty obvious Clausen is better

With that said, I dont think the Browns take a QB

Are you comparing Quinn's accuracy in the pros vs Clausen's accuracy in college because they had comparable college completions percentages.

no. I'm judging college to college. Clausen has better ball placement and timing than Quinn had. If you recall, Quinn had accuracy issues at ND as well. Remember how they made a big deal about how much his accuracy dropped off when he threw to one of the sides of the field (i forget if it was left or right). And Clausen had a 68% comp% last year. Quinn was never that high, and his final year was quite a bit below that as a matter of fact.

61%......and that could be why he dropped in the first round of that draft. I also think Clausen had better tools to work with and an easier schedule his last season in college. He was also not as productive TD/int wise. I just don't like him as much as I did Quinn (who I didn't feel was a top 10 pick either, but had potential). I think we both agree that the Browns probably won't go that way. Time will tell on Clausen for whoever drafts him.

Stop over to the Dallas forum as I have a couple of questions about USC players.
