    Indico Peyton Manning

He had his worst year last year in the last 6 seasons with a pedestrian QB rating of 95.0(sarcasm about pedestrian). It was also the lowest amount of TD's he had thrown in the same 6 years. Is he starting to decline? Will he still be a Top 3 QB this season? What are your stat projections for him this season?

Thanks to Wolverine for the sig and avatar.

I do not see him breaking the 4k mark this year. No so much a decline on his end as this is just a different team from last year. I really see this as a run 1st team now. With Brown and Addia in that lineup I see a lot more 2nd and 3rd down running plays in there play book. Last year they where 2nd to last in rushing and I expect then to make a statement about that really early this year. I am also not so hot on there O-Line. Some of the younger guys have to look better then they did in the pre-season or Payton may have his work cut out for him.

Decline???? Running team???come on is this all a practical joke, you don't pay Manning and his recieving corps the kind of money you do just to be glorified decoys....we need some serious topics in this forum.

And gator decline? Look at his stats for the last 8 games of the season after he was back in game shape from his 2 off season surgeries, man someone needs a refresher course on the difference between injured and declining...

Sorry these two posts in combination just really stroked my fur the wrong way

Agreed. Crunky, I think we need to buy a new Gator cage. He somehow busted out of the basement and posted this

Of course, with the Bait hanging around, might explain why he busted out...hmmm...

I figured you'd enjoy that one. He's getting older, he lost Marvin Harrison and he had his worst season statistically in 8 years. I understand he was recovering from injury early in the season and that didn't help his cause. I also don't think he's on the decline, just decided to ask that question just in case people did and Dreamers does. What are your stat projections for him?

No do not think he is on decline just the team is changing. I'm very interested as to how this team will play this year. I do not expect it to be the same old Colts team at all.

    ah, comparison time.

the majority say LT is on decline and choose to ignore that injuries played a role into how his season panned out for him, much like Manning's injury/surgery early in the offseason

IMO, if the majority say LT is on decline, I'm going to follow suit with every other player that played 'below their standard' after injury.

If Brady throws only 26 TD's, he's technically in 'a decline' according to most

Manning had an MVP season after he got up to speed though, not a decline....

And to answer Gators, I think Manning will put up some Manning like numbers this year 30ish TD's 10-teens INTS 4k yards....etc.

Maybe that is being a homer, but I think he still has a few more years at his peak before he starts to decline, maybe through the end of the 2010 or 2011 season

I concur. A great deal of his edge is mental, and that's not going to decline any time soon.

The physical stuff he does is great, but it's not the biggest reason for his success.

He is perhaps the most cerebral QB ever. His release is among the best ever. And he won an MVP despite being hampered by an injury for half a season. There will not be a decline in Peyton's numbers, if anything, there will be an increase.
