    Nygico Hakeem Nicks, Rookie

Hakeem Nicks is the rookie receiver out of North Carolina drafted to give the Giants' passing game a boost. He famously broke out in UNC's bowl game last year with a massive 200+ yard performance.

Two questions: 1. will he break into the starting lineup for the Giants this season, and 2. what will his overall rookie impact be?
    RIP Jay

UNC ran a pro set offense so you could say the learning curve won't be as steep for a kid coming from the spread. With Burress gone and Toomer gone there is a chance for him to grab a spot but I see him as a 3rd receiver initially and then maybe breaking into the starting lineup later in the season.

A solid but unspectacular college player. I don't see the guy bursting onto the scene in any fashion. He's got the tools and a solid all around game but without a single talent in his repetoire that you would call great I don't see him making an impact early.

So does Jason Avant, thats not necessarily something that a guy can lean on.

Maybe if he were really big with hands of glue, but he's rather average sized. Maybe if he had an insane vertical leap with hands of glue, but hes rather average there too. Super fast with hands of glue? Nope, he's barely a 4.5 guy at just over 6'0".

I just don't see it. Again im not saying he can't develop into an impact player, just that solid but unspectacular guys like him rarely jump off the chart from day 1.
