Dallas Cowboys mull trading or releasing Greg Ellis | Sports News | News for Dallas, Texas | Dallas Morning NewsIRVING – Greg Ellis' future with the Cowboys is in doubt.
Ellis did not take part in Thursday's organized team activity workout at Standridge Stadium as the Cowboys consider the possibility of trading or releasing the veteran linebacker, according to multiple sources.
The Cowboys would free up more than $5 million in salary cap room in 2009 with a trade. If they cut Ellis, they would save $4.15 million because he has a $1.5 million guarantee that was added to his contract in 2007.
Makes sense after we drafted 2 OLBs and wanted to move Spencer in the starting lineup.
