A11 Offense
Quote:
Here's a description of the offense Welcome To The Online Home Of The New A-11 Offense Basically, 2 QBs in a shotgun with a center, he has 2 TE's next to him, and 3 WRs on each side spread out. The other team wont know who is going to go down field and who will run in and block, drawing out the defense. I could see this some one in college (steve spurrier?) going with this and having some success (probably more a small time school in florida who can recruit some speed). They say one NFL coach (in the nfc, that's all he said) and 50 college coachs have called to ask about it. here's a video of it in use. http://highschool.rivals.com/video.a...ght&vidid=1343 Being able to throw the ball backwards to another QB who can then throw could open up options, especially if a team sends more rushers after the QB and doesnt man up one Db/LB per WR. In the video i also saw them motion to have 5 WRs on one side and 1 on the other. I wouldnt be suprised to see it run a couple times in 2 years in a couple college games. QB draws seem big to them. I could see screens being amazing too (especially if they go against a zone). |

yeah i think the nfl would easily be too quick (unless you shot gun 15 yards back and are michael vick). the CFL (i dont know their rules though) could probably see this come up. after watching some tape i think it could be beatable though, so as long as the WRs dont know how to beat a zone coverage.

I don't think the problem in the NFL is the speed of the D but having the athletes at QB. In order to really do this you need two guys that have avg throwing ability, good running ability, and avg rec skills. Other wise it looks like it could be a little predictable.
I see it working in HS like it is right now, and I see some colleges throwing in a few packages in the play book but like the option I don't see it in the NFL. too much risk to the QB and not enough speed at the QB position. |

It will never catch on in the NFL since it violates the basic rules of offense. The only reason it can exist in high school is they are allowing them to play the entire game out of a kicking formation.
