JAX Harvey’s holdout, injuries trouble Jaguars at DE

Quote:
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP)—Saddled with the NFL’s only unsigned first-round pick and a flood of injuries, the Jacksonville Jaguars seem to have a problem at defensive end.

Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio said Monday the position is a work in progress, but he doesn’t consider defensive end a major issue, even though first-round pick Derrick Harvey from Florida remains out of camp.

“No, it’s not desperate,” Del Rio said. “The guys who are here are working hard and doing a good job. We’re just going to work the guys who are here. We’ll plug in the guys that we have available and keep rolling.”

Cmon, get this guy into camp so he has a chance to produce. You traded away many picks for him.

I'm loving this! Stay away man. They need to pay you a lot more money. Don't even bother going to camp until they do. You''re doing the right thing Harvey.

WR's going down, top rookie not in camp yet. Lol! Keep it up Jags.

I think its safe to say at this point that Derrick Harvey has thrown his rookie season away. He's headed in the direction of Jamarcus Russell and Brodrick Bunkley. Even if he is signed before the start of the season with training camp being over with he'll have no time to learn the system and will be so far behind that he won't get on the field this year.

What a waste. In a couple of years if he is playing well he's going to feel like an idiot for holding out for what will become a small amount of money. You have to blame the agent in these cases but Harveys still an idiot.

No reason for Harvey to be holding out at this point since everyone is signed. His money is slotted and the only reason I can think of that he's holding out is that he's too lazy to go through camp. My guess is he'll sign early next week.

Well the Jags are basically going to get zero production out of their first round pick that they gave up so much for.

Yep, they should have just given the Dolphins what they wanted and traded for Jason Taylor.
