From what I read he threw the ball with good velocity, but the team don't want him to hurt the finger more.

I'd make him sit at least one game. Why chance his finger getting worse against the Rams? If the Cowboys can't rally to beat the Rams with Brad Johnson and show some team cohesion and unity this week with all of that talent then they are garbage. This is a perfect team for them to play this week to get back on track and get some good moral going again.
