"New" Roy Williams Extended Through 2013

In conjunction with the deal that brought receiver Roy Williams from Detroit to his home state of Texas, the Cowboys and Williams have worked out a five-year deal that will keep the new Williams in silver and blue through 2013.

Adam Schefter of NFLN reports that the basic paramaters are in place — length of deal and average value per year. Work still must be done on how the money will be paid out, including the amount of it that will be guaranteed.

I love the description of a player after he's been added to the Cowboys' roster, guarantee if he was an Eagle he'd be Jerry Rice reincarnated, shame shame when Philly fans know they wanted him. But of course we here oh I'm glad we didn't give up that much, sad thing is this unproven player is better than any wideout on your roster. Roy Williams, unproven, hard to believe, ****ty quarterback whole career, VERY BELIEVABLE.

i have said all along that he was unproven. that is why i wouldnt want my team to give up a ridiculous amount of picks and then sign him to a 5 year deal without him even meeting the team. justify it all you want....its a poor move.

I believe that he has the ABILITY to be better and possesses the talent to do so, but has proven nothing so far.

unproven? huh?

the guy is in his 5th season. i'm sure the cowboys have enough film on the guy to make this decision .............. and weren't the eagles the other team that wanted this guy? So, apparently the eagles also felt that he wasn't 'unproven' ...............

YES....you guys arent listening.

is he a talented player? YES

is he worth having? YES

would I be happy if he was an Eagle? YES (although I would rather have Boldin)

Would I be worried and upset if MY team speant this much on a guy that hasnt even MET the team or stepped on the field? YES

what is there not to get here?

im with azy. You gave up alot for a player who has not done anything that makes him worth the 1st 3rd and 5th. He is a step up from crayton, but not really a true elite number one threat, he has the talent but i dont feel he is worth the price tag he got
