Terence Newman will sit out the season opener for the second straight year.
The Cowboys initially downplayed the severity of the groin injury Newman suffered during the first week of training camp. He was expected to miss three weeks, which we were told was a cautious approach. But it's been six weeks, and he's still not healthy enough to play.
We've known for a couple days that Adam "Pacman" Jones would start at left cornerback. We now know that fifth-round pick Orlando Scandrick will be the slot corner in the Cowboys' nickel and dime packages today.
