Hialeah High defensive lineman Corey Liuget thought about it twice, but he is sticking with Illinois.

Liuget (6-4, 270-pounds) announced his decision at a small gathering at Hialeah High on Wednesday morning, choosing the Illini over Florida State, South Florida and LSU in the end.

''I feel like I had a better relationship with coach Zook, more than any other head coach,'' Liuget said. ``It's just a great fit for me. I'm the top guy going in as Arthur Brown is for Miami. In the end, I just wanted to weigh my options, take all my visits and make sure it was the right place for me. I know even if I don't make the NFL, I can always fall back on my education and coach Zook. That's the type of relationship we have.''

Liuget, an All-Dade, First-Team selection, said he could also always fall back on his hometown Hurricanes if things don't work out at Illinois.

''If things don't go too well with Illinois, and I want to come back home, then the only place I'd go is Miami,'' Liuget said. ``But right now, I just want to go and experience something different.''

I doubt his mother is letting him transfer to Miami if things don't work out for Illinois. It was being said that she really wanted him out of Miami and his friend being murdered 2 weeks before signing day sealed the deal.

Yeah he hangs out with a bad crowd. Hialeiah is not any place special for sure. It's about 30 minutes north of Miami.
