Alabama is the #1 team in the country and yet they are getting disrespected by being underdogs on a neutral field.

Gators on their way to yet another SEC Title over Alabama. Bring on all comers from any other conference for the title game. Two titles in three years...I feel it.

I mentioned this once in another thread, but the level of disrespect Alabama has gotten coming into this game is simply amazing. Yes, I think Florida will win, I have to think that, but what have they done that Bama hasn't to merit a 10 point spread?
This reminds me a lot of Florida-Ohio St. Nobody gave the Gators a shot in that game, and look what happened. This game will showcase what these two teams have that none of the Big XII contenders have. Defense! And at the same time they will show, especially Florida, the offense that USC has lacked this year. I do agree with Weston, I think the winner of this game wins the title.

If I were flordia I would be careful. I know they don't make the spread but I think the worst thing that can happen to them is Bama coming into this game with something to prove. Not only does it fit thier attitude but it fits thier game. I see them coming into this game and really trying to hit the Gators in the mouth. I think the two lines will dominate all game and Tebow will have to put up a superhuman performance (that is possible) to win. I don't know why so many people seem to think this game is a shoe in for the Gators they are a great team but I don't see them winning this game, and if they do I see it being close.

Alabama does remind me a little bit of the 06 Gators, they have barely snuck by a couple of teams. They have a senior QB that doesn't make mistakes and rely on their defense and special teams to make plays. They aren't getting hyped up at all. 10 point underdog is an unheard of line from the undefeated #1 team at a neutral site.
Florida has way more playmakers on both sides of the ball than Alabama, IMO. This game will be won in the trenches and on special teams. The Gators will be without 2 DT's in their rotation and considering Alabama loves running with that crazy offensive line, it could mean trouble. Alabama's DL is very very strong as well with big boy Cody in the middle. Bama is going to have to dominate the trenches and field position battle to have any chance to win this game. I expect to see a lot of screen passes and options to try to catch the Bama defense off guard a little and try to utilize the speed difference that we possess and to neutralize the Bama blitz packages. If they can get to Tebow we're in for a long day. Bama has had one of the easiest schedules in the nation this year as their opponents have had a 46% winning percentage. Their QB has thrown 9 TD passes the entire season. I expect the Gators to stack the box with 8 people then essentially double cover Julio Jones for the majority of the game. I expect a similar strategy that the Gators used in the Georgia game in which we shutdown Moreno. I can see this game going 2 ways, either a Gator blowout or a close hard fought game that could go either way(probably Bama though). I'm gonna go with a blowout. Gators 35 Tide 17, which would be by far the closest game of the Gators season other than Ole Miss. If we get an early 2 possession lead the game should be as good as over as Bama doesn't seem to have the firepower on offense to get in a track meet with us. ![]()

In some sense, this year does offer a +1 system. The SEC Championship has, arguably, the best two teams in the country battling for conference supremacy. The winner of this game will play, arguably, the best team from the Big XII, which is, arguably, the best conference in the country.

Where exactly is this great defense that isn't seen in the Big XII?

And, what? Quote:
Oklahoma allowed 45 points to Texas, 31 to Kansas, 35 to K State, 28 to Nebraska and A&M and 41 to Okla. St. Texas allowed 35 to OU, 31 to Mizzou, 39 to Tech. Bama highest points allowed this season is the 30 Georgia scored, Mississippi and LSU scored 20 and 21 respectively, no one else hit 20. Florida gave up 31 in the loss to Mississippi, LSU got 21, and the next most anyone scored against Florida was Citadel's 19. Maybe it is you that hasn't watched a lot of Big XII.
