Ninety-six yards of offense and three points........weep, weep for Old Notre Dame. So much for the offense college football hadn't seen the likes of yet........and still hasn't. If this doesn't do away with Charlie Weis, ND is stupid.

I think they still have to give him the fifth year. With all they were accused of with making too quick a decision on Tyrone Willingham, it's the right thing to do in this situation.

Still...relatively pathetic for a team running out of excuses...

The right thing to do is what's best for the program and keeping Weis is not it. He's officially been the coach for the worst season in ND history hasn't he? He went 6-6 with a schedule that should have been a 10 win season.

That's one interpretation of it, historically, Notre Dame has given coaches five years to completely build their program, and I think that's the standard they need to apply here with Weis.

Frankly, I think it's the only thing they can do, especially if someone else gets to Brian Kelly before they do.

That's one way to look at it. If we look at the modern era of college football, Brennan was fired after five years, Joe Kuharich resigned after four years, Parseghian (95-17-4) retired for health reasons, Devine (53-16-1) resigned, Faust (30-26-1) resigned to go to Akron, Holtz (100-30-2) resigned, Davie (35-25) was fired after 5 seasons, Willingham (21-15) was fired after three seasons. That's not a long track record of patience since most of the coaches went on their own terms.

ND needs to make a change. They need a coach with fire.......not some guy that gives excuses like Weis.
