Never too early to start eh?
Specific prospects I hope we're taking a long look at... LINEBACKERS!!! James Laurinaitis, obvious reasons. I'll move on to some more interesting ones. Aaron Curry, Wake Forest: This guy is what we need in the middle, big enough to stack up inside, quick enough to see hole, hit hole, smash whatever's in it and stop it for no gain. He and D'Qwell Jackson would make a great inside tandem. Jaspar Brinkley, South Carolina: different type of inside backer, Brinkley smashes runners. He's quick enough to hit the holes, but he isn't exactly going to run sideline to sideline much. With his size, good fit next to Jackson as well as he'd offer more of a big tough presence in the middle. Defensive Line If last night taught us much of anything against Buffalo, we need some help for Shaun Rogers in the trenches. Robaire Smith's pretty much done with the achilles tear, and Shaun Smith's been beat up as the third guy with Corey Williams on the other side. Terrence Cody, Alabama: My personal favorite here. Imagine 365(ish) pound Cody at the nose with Rogers lined up at end somewhere with the ability to get free and cause havoc. Imagine the money that'd be saved on cleaning ILB uniforms! They'd never get touched by a guard or center again! Ricky-Jean Francois, LSU: Might be a good fit at DE, quick enough to get off blocks, big enough to eat up two of them if necessary. Tyson Jackson, LSU: Yeah yeah, LSU's got a solid d-line, bite me after that NC game last year. Jackson's more the prototype at 3-4 DE, and I wouldn't mind seeing him lining up as the third man on this line at all. Mitch King, Iowa: Pure rotation guy, but pure motor rotation guy. Wouldn't mind him as a middle round pick to provide depth. Cornerback Malcolm Jenkins, THE Ohio State University. Love to see him in a Browns uniform if possible, but it probably won't happen if we win another game...he's that good. Brandon Underwood, Cincy: My sleeper pick, a former Buckeye recruit. Playing free safety some for Cincy this year because he's too damn talented to keep off the field. More to come over the next five months I'm sure... -RD

I actually enjoy watching him play more than I did Roth, but yes, I think he could work in that capacity if a 3-4 team chose to go that route.
