So I'm fairly certain I saw Rogers holding open gaps in the line yesterday for the linebackers to attack through like the 3-4's supposed to work with.
I'm also fairly certain I still saw Andra Davis and Leon Williams still making tackles four yards down field after the back emerged from the hole and not meeting the back in, or God forbid, beyond the hole in the backfield. After now almost four full seasons of running this system, it's time to figure out that it ain't just the line that's been a problem, it's the inside linebackers stupid! Crennel needs to be canned, but if we stick with a 3-4 style coach (Bill Cowher, you with me so far?), we absolutely need to dump Andra Davis and get an actual 3-4 inside linebacker who diagnoses plays and attacks the line. James Laurinaitis, be waiting by your phone on draft day. -RD

We need a whole new defense...Except for Rogers and maybe DQ...
New coordinator for sure, and nobody else but the two mentioned above are worth keeping. This might be the worst tackling team i've ever seen. Maybe corey williams and shaun smith too...our dline is the strength but after that we're pathetic

How's Corey Williams doing for you guys? I'm curious because in Green Bay I saw him more as a guy who was below average against the run, but who was perceived to be very good mainly because he took some risks which allowed him to get a couple of sacks now and then.

So far Corey hasn't been able to beat the one guy on the o-line who isn't currently blocking Shaun Rogers. If it's injuries or what, I don't know, but he's not doing what he's here for.
I do like our safeties, but they are both injured too often, who knows if that's from always having to tackle the RB, or if they're just injury prone. I'll be in the dawg pound for the Texans and the Colts games in the next two weeks, I'm interested in seeing the size of the holes Rogers is opening up that our LBs are wasting.

Ok, probably not that big, two yardsticks might suffice just to count the territory Rogers himself occupies let alone the hole. -RD
