Browns G.M. Phil Savage, in his weekly radio spot on WTAM in Cleveland, addressed the one-week suspension imposed on tight end Kellen Winslow.

The Browns suspended Winslow after he accused the team of covering up the fact that he was hospitalized for a staph infection. Winslow said that the team hid behind his privacy interests in order to keep the public from learning that the Browns have sustained yet another staph infection.

Savage started off calmly, but then gradually worked himself into an arguable frenzy regarding the integrity of the team and the dedication of the people who work for the organization. At one point, he was rattling off obscure names of non-football employees like a Vegas performer introducing the members of his 30-piece backup band.

There were rumors in the locker room that Winslow had swollen testicles. He has said that he had a staph infection.

Since a staph infection can cause swelling, these two items aren’t mutually exclusive. He could have had a staph infection, and it could have caused swelling in his nether regions.

This just gets weirder and weirder by the moment.... Basically this is the version of the story that is being pumped out by by places like PFT.

Winslow, had an STD, which was the reason for his hospitalization. Winslow and Browns decided to keep it a secret.. Then for some odd reason, Staph Infection came up.. The Browns basically put their asses on the line for Winslow by saying it was a staph?

What? what the hell is going on?

Either way, if you read about the Savage interview, I heard it and wow did he sound PISSED... You get the feeling that Winslow's time as a Brown is dwindling by the day.

I haven't heard much more on this.. But some of the Cleveland fans I've heard are all real salty on Winslow..

I think his time as a Brown is coming to an end..
