CLE Stallworth could be ready in two weeks

Quote:
BEREA, OHIO (TICKER) —Wide receiver Donte’ Stallworth is hoping to make his debut with the Cleveland Browns when they host the Super Bowl champion New York Giants in two weeks.

Stallworth was the Browns’ prize offseason acquisition, signing a seven-year, $35 million deal. But he has missed the first four games of the season with an injured quadriceps.

In my mind, they need both Stallworth and Jurevicious back, Stallworth especially. The Browns really need that vertical target right now and keep opponents off Edwards and Winslow. Either one will help, but they need one of them. But, is it a little bit late to catch up?

He signed a seven year, $35 million deal in the spring.

I'm sure of that as well. Nevermind the fact that there are a lot of players who don't finish their FA contracts before being cut for the cap, but Stallworth got lucky with the Eagles and Pats, putting up production while avoiding a lengthy injury. He's got talent and brings something to the table that can not be ignored, but Stallworth was always battling some leg injury in New Orleans.
