CAR Jake Delhomme

Do you guys think that Delhomme will have a bounce-back year, or at his age, will we now see the end of the line for him?

That surgery scares me...clearly the Panthers think he's going to make it all the way back, but there's never been a starting NFL QB who's had this procedure so...who knows what it's going to do to his velocity...I'm up in the air until he's seen throwing at 100%.

I'm excited I really am. Do you realize the great opportunity that Delhomme and his surgery presents for the Philadelphia Eagles? If he's terrible and they suffer a key injury or two we could be looking at a top 10 pick next year. Top 5 maybe?

I dunno, how high do you guys think we could go?

What if Steve Smith's knee were to.............. umm................. "trip" over a lead pipe while he was out one evening? Possible shot at the #1 overall selection?

If he stays in the game you have no worries. He looked good when he played last year and he did not play all that bad the year before. I think you may need a better backup if he does go down thou. He's not going to carry this team but should look like a pro starter. If your looking for a good backup Pennington or Losman look to be the only movers worth going for.

Or the Panthers could be the Superbowl champs as Jon Stewart breaks 2000 yards? Who knows what could happen. It's probably bad karma to even think about a player on another team getting hurt. Who's to say McNabb doesn't get injured again and the Eagles finish 3-13 and getting the #1 pick as the Panthers go 4-12, so the Eagles have the #1 and #2 picks next season?

Since we've had a rough go of things recently in the injury department i'm betting on karma coming around and working out well for us this year. But if Mcnabb goes down again and we end up in your scenario with the #1 and #2 pick then I guess I can look forward to Kevin Kolb next year and the Bears first rounder which could also be top 10 in a trade for Mcnabb. I'd say we'd be in pretty good shape. Maybe a 4th 1st rounder for Lito if he stays healthy too? Hmmmm.
