Bills fans demand roof raised for game at Toronto

Quote:
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP)—What was the NFL thinking when it scheduled the warm-weather Miami Dolphins to play their division-rival Buffalo Bills in the cozy confines of a domed stadium in December, and in Canada of all places?

That’s the question numerous unhappy Bills fans have been asking since the schedule came out with Buffalo playing a “home” game against Miami at Toronto’s Rogers Centre on Dec. 7.

With that in mind, two Bills season-ticket holders, Andrew Petrinec and Al Keohane, decided to do something about shifting the climate-controlled playing field in Buffalo’s favor by organizing a petition to have the domed stadium’s retractable roof open for the game.

“We’re just trying to make a difference,” said Petrinec, who’s gathered about 1,000 signatures on the Internet and in person. “We’re trying to do anything we can to help out the team and make a little noise so maybe the league will recognize that fans aren’t extremely thrilled with it.”

Hell I don't care WHO they are playing. It's considered a Bills home game and they should get every advantage of that.

Honestly if Miami wasn't playing as good as they were this wouldn't be considered an issue.

Home teams should have stadium options, unless it poses a danger to the building or the inhabitants, question is, why didn't the team think of this?

Also included in demands were that hands be thrown in air and shaken as if they did not care.

Furthermore, they demanded a shrubbery!

Seriously, cold weather team against a warm weather team, unless it's safety related, shouldn't be an issue, open the freakin' roof!

Considering most of Miami's starters lived and played in a cold weather climate last year does this really matter at all. To be honest it may hurt the Bills more as there QB and RB are from Cali. I will admit Pennington was always a wuss in cold weather thou. I remember him running to the sidelines to warm his hands in between downs.

most bills fans realize that the cold weather is going to be just as much a hinderance on the bills as it is on the dolphins.

Did anyone actually watch Edwards in December, it was horrible.

yeah after today I don't think Bills fans should be so ardent about the roof in toronto being open. and it'll be closed because the turf at the rodgers center isn't all-weather. I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a drainage system designed to handle being snowed on.
