ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Offensive lineman Demetrius Bell, the first of the Buffalo Bills' three seventh-round picks and estranged son of former NBA star Karl Malone, signed with Buffalo on Tuesday.

Selected 219th overall out of Louisiana's Northwestern State in the draft in April, Bell started 22 consecutive games over his final two college seasons. He is considered a work-in-progress with the Bills after he got a late start in football.

you don't know the full story, Did karl know he was having sex with a 13 year old? Was karl's attempts at being a parent to demetrius shot down by Bell's grandparents, who served as his parents? While shooting down Karl's attempts at seeing his son did the granparents still accept Child support?

We do know that The bell's only bothered to tell karl about his son AFTER he got a huge NBA contract, and their method of telling him was suing him for child support, not the best circumstances to find out you have a child.

Uuum, sorry but your logic and facts on this are nothing but SPIN attempts. Karl is the POSTER BOY for being a dead beat dad and one of the most worthless pieces of garbage of any athlete of all time. He's ignored several kids of his including this one.

Sorry, but I don't leave exception out there for anyone who won't bother trying to raise their kid or be part of their life. Their is none. If you know that you have a kid and it is yours, then you have a responsibility PERIOD. If you can't grasp that, then I STRONGLY hope that you never have children yourself.

Yes, deadbeat dads evade child support, Karl never did that. So while he was horribly irresponsible in the neighborhood of birth control, he never left the family struggling to pay for the child's needs.

How could he be the poster boy for deadbeat dads when Andre Rison and Travis Henry are still breathing. I think some hyperbole was unnecessarily used there.
