Okla Sooners have the goods to win BCS title

Quote:
All Oklahoma has done is win 90 games in eight years with a national title, five Big 12 championships, and six BCS appearances. And yet it all seems so empty. For all the success and all the great numbers, the program that was such a killer in every big game now doesn't seem nearly as bad or nearly as intimidating.

They'll win the Big 12 for sure. Hopefully, that will be about it though. I love watching them lose in bowl games and they have lost quite a few lately. Bradford should be really good with Iglecias though, and their stud Freshman RB will be back this year as a sophmore.

Boy, am I not looking forward to the Red River Shootout.

The conference will be tougher than usual and Oklahoma has all their original blueprints: good defense, solid running game, and a QB who runs the system well. Oklahoma can't afford to lose more than one game in order to make the BCS title game...I think they lose two.

But who do you think wins it then? Texas should probably lose at least 3 games in my opinion. I can guarantee you that Oklahoma will play in the Big 12 Championship and they will most likely play against either Kansas or Missouri. I think that Oklahoma will win be able to win against both of those teams in the Big 12 Championship, but I could be wrong.

I don't think that the Big 12 South has gotten that much better this year, it's the Big 12 North that has gotten better.

I think it's Texas Tech playing for the Big XII title...just a hunch (I'd say gut feeling but anyone who knows me knows I hate that phrase for what Butch Davis did to it)...

Texas Tech won't win the Big 12 Raiden. That D is not going to be a good D over night. They might upset Oklahoma, but they'll lose other games. I don't know who they'll have to play from the Big 12 North to see how tough their schedule is though. If they were to win the Big 12 South, I highly doubt they would win the Big 12 championship where they'll most likely be playing Missouri or Kansas. Not that they couldn't beat both of those teams, but I just don't see their team being able to win that many games to get to the Big 12 Championship and win it as well. They'll have to lose no more than one game for their entire regular season, and I don't think they can do that.

They had the best pass defense in the Big XII last year, and it's a passing league. Not to mention, their new coordinator had an entire offseason to evaluate and finetune what he was doing at the end of last year...I wouldn't rule out their defensive improving this year and helping them win more games.

Well their D could certainly improve, but improve how much is the question? I'd like to see Texas Tech do some damage, but I dunno. I've seen that D be totally awful for so many years now, that I just can't expect them to totally turn it around that quick.

They have a real good chance at beating Texas this year, and they'll probably beat Texas A&M as well. I don't see them beating Oklahoma though. Their other big games in the Big 12 South will be Oklahoma State and Kansas St. which could easily beat Tech. I'd pick Tech to win both games, but they won't be easy games. I'm guessing that they will have to play Kansas or Missouri in their regular schedule, and that will be a real challenge for them.

A lot of it's coaching, they really improved over the last few games last year. The talent's halfway decent, now their focus has to be fixing their run defense.
