Otis Wiley said he wasn’t thinking about steak when he spotted the opportunity he’d been looking for all day.

With 1:16 left on the clock and his Green team up 23-21, the senior safety intercepted Brian Hoyer’s pass returned it 50 yards to the 3-yard line with 1:05 left. The Green team simply ran out the clock after that, sealing its victory in Michigan State’s Green and White game on Saturday.

As head coach Mark Dantonio promised, the players and coaches on the winning team would enjoy a steak dinner, while the losing side would settle for hot dogs and beans. On Tuesday night, they’ll head to a nearby restaurant for their reward.

“I lost last year, so just to be on top this year is a plus for us,” Wiley said. “At the end though, both teams played well. It was a close game and the fans enjoyed it.”
