Psu Should JoePa step down after 2008?

Joe Paterno's contract is up at the end of this year, and there's been widespread speculation that he should step down following this season.

Given that he'll be 82 years old following the 2008 campaign, and that Penn State has only gone 32-32 in Big Ten play this decade, is 2009 the year a new coach should be taking the field at Penn State?

JoePa should never retire... When he dies, they should freeze his corpse and have it on the sidelines...

Penn State without JoePa would be sacrilegious...

He SHOULD retire now really..

But Curt is right really. I can't imagine PSU without him. Like how many people living now a days can say they remember someone else being the head coach?

Yeah, but most of those guys also remember Bear Bryant as a coach, not a legend.

It'll be an honor to say that I was in the same stadium as Joe Pa in a few short months, but I honestly hope I never seen him coach again beyond the once...

He should retire a few years ago honestly when you are old....you are old it sucks to say that but honestly you should not be coaching at the age of 95....

and then after 10 years of the corpse on the sidelines, it signs with Minnesota and becomes the greatest coach the vikings have had in 40 years.

Yeah, those 2 10+ win seasons and 3 9 win seasons and 4-1 bowl record over that span is garbage.

Like it would be easy to top Bud Grant.

He's way beyond the age he "should" be coaching at, so drawing a line at this point is meaningless. Is there really a difference between coaching at 84 vs. 81?
