Wvu WVU Gives Stewart 6 Year Extension

Quote:
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia University football coach Bill Stewart has signed a six-year contract that will pay him $800,000 this year with an annual increase of $50,000.

Athletic Director Ed Pastilong announced Friday that Stewart's base salary is $150,000, and he will earn $550,000 in supplemental income for promotional purposes, including radio and television appearances with the Mountaineer Sports Network.
ESPN - Despite ECU upset, West Virginia's Stewart inks six-year deal - College Football

Based off... a Bowl win and and a loss to ECU?

Bit premature don't you think?

quiet. although they arent paying him all that much so if they cut him loose and still had to pay him it isnt that much of a hit but yeah way to early to resign the guy.

This has Larry Coker written all over it. Poor WVU.

Bad idea. Stewart hasn't impressed all that much.

Nope it cannot. I said this was Larry Coker all over again for them. The offense is not the same. They're trying to turn Pat White into a pocket passer and that's not his game.

"We've got the guy wide open and the kid underthrew the ball," Stewart lamented. "Maybe we could've scored. But maybes are not going to get it done. Getting it done gets it done. We didn't get it done."
I like that....."getting it done gets it done." Ya think?

Quote:
And some might question the final play in overtime, when the 5-foot-8, 174-pound Sanders was thrown for a 2-yard loss on third-and-1 at the 4.
But Stewart wasn't questioning himself.

"I don't second-guess myself," he said. "I don't want anybody second-guessing me. I wouldn't change a thing."
Then he's an idiot. It was bad clock management in regulation and poor decision-making for not being able to convert three 3rd and 1s in the game. You can see how they miss Owen Schmitt now.

Hey, at least he'll be earning that $550,000. They'll be grilling the _ _ _ _ out of him, after last night's mistakes.

I know a guy who was supposed to be on the team this year, and he said his friends on the team were calling it "Camp Cupcake" this summer. They were woefully prepared for the season and they are not too happy right now with how the season has gone.

This was a huge mistake to give Stewart that deal. Poor decision.

Huge mistake to give him any deal IMO. One game gets him the job because nobody else was fighting over it, then a six year deal on top of it? WTF?
