Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez remains public enemy No. 1 in West Virginia.

If today's reports from West Virginia newspapers are true, with the first one emerging from the Charleston (W. Va.) Gazette, the hatred is about to reach a new level.

The initial Gazette report, which cited an unnamed source, said that Rodriguez “destroyed all or most of the paperwork filed relating to every player on the Mountaineer roster and virtually all of the activities conducted by the programs over the past seven years.”

Rodriguez and Michigan officials were unavailable for comment this morning.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) -- West Virginia is investigating the disappearance of records associated with the school's football program.

Citing anonymous sources, The Charleston Gazette reported Tuesday that files kept in the private office of former coach Rich Rodriguez disappeared between Dec. 16 and Jan. 3, along with strength and conditioning records from the weight room.

Where did you hear that? This begs the question: why on Earth wasn't everything on computer? This is 2008, after all. Anyway, if he did such a thing, yeah that is disgraceful, but why would he?

officially I read that they aren't launching an investigation. If they don't I call BULL on them.. I think they are just trying to make him look bad again

ESPN is saying they will launch an investigation.

I don't understand why he would do that and what he had to gain by doing that.

It's an example of poking the bear. He's being lashed out at for millions of dollars he owes, and now this. He's only hurting his own image.
