Rutgers quarterback Mike Teel vows to play against West Virginia

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) -- Rutgers quarterback Mike Teel vowed to play against No. 6 West Virginia despite being limited in practice on Monday because of a bruised right throwing hand.

"That's not happening," Teel said when asked if he might miss the No. 25 Scarlet Knights' game on Saturday. "Not happening. I will be there."

Coach Greg Schiano came very close to lifting Teel in the fourth quarter of Thursday night's 30-27 win over then-No. 2 South Florida because the redshirt junior had trouble griping and throwing the ball.

Teel hurt his right thumb against Cincinnati on Oct. 6 and the injury now involves a bruised hand.

All the more reason to pound the ball down the Mountaineers' collective throats with Ray Rice. And now knowing this...he best keep his bombs to a minimum. Ya know, like ZERO! Throw it to Underwood and Britt 10 yards, and let them do the rest.

Its pretty much either he plays or Jabu and Ray run all day and we don't pass the ball.... period.

West Virginia is looking impressive on both sides of the defensive spectrum, pass YPG and rush YPG, ranking 5th and 11th nationally, respectively. Rushing game and passing game need to be firing on all cylinders Saturday afternoon for us to have a shot.
