BAL McGahee on benching: ‘No need to be frustrated’

Quote:
OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP)—Willis McGahee has become the forgotten man in the Baltimore Ravens’ running game, and he apparently isn’t the least bit frustrated or angry about his pronounced lack of playing time.

During a 34-3 rout of Cincinnati on Sunday, McGahee watched from the sideline as Le’Ron McClain and rookie Ray Rice shared the workload in what used to be a potent three-pronged attack.

McGahee led the Ravens in rushing last year and went to the Pro Bowl, yet this season he has fewer yards and attempts than McClain, who had eight carries as a rookie fullback last year.

Rumor has it they are resting McGahee for when they will need him most later this season, but other rumors say he was benched because he has a little attitude problem. If find them both believable.

Sounds like his attitude problem is fixed now. He said all the right things from that article. I personally believe the first, to some extent. When you have someone like McClain, you have to use them, too. McGahee and McClain, thrown in with some Rice, has proved to be a successful combination. However, it does not hurt to have your best back rested up for the playoffs, where they will be running the ball heavily.

I hope you're right. My only concern is McGahee will have some rust on him. I would like to see him get 8 - 10 carries this week at least, just so he's lose.

The Ravens haven't even made the playoffs yet. They need to focus on NOW, rather than later. They have a horrid schedule down the stretch.

They do....but they'll make the post. NE isn't going to bounce them, who else was a candidate?

I love what the Ravens have been doing ( and getting little credit for).

Ravens - Bucs.....stealth SB!!

McGahee definitely looked rusty last night.

Ravens vs. Bucs would be a cool SB. That won't happen though. If the Ravens make the playoffs, Flacco won't be able to run through the defense of the Titans or the Steelers. No way.

The Pats are totally still in it. There are 3 more games left in the season and they can still win the division.
