BAL Flacco Named Starter for rest of the Year

So was John Harbaugh right here by naming Flacco the starter for the rest of the season?

Troy Smith is just as capable as starting, but no more than Flacco is. So there's two reason for Flacco starting. 1. It wouldn't be fair to pull him now, to anyone, since he's already started the first 4 games. 2. Flacco is the future so the more grooming he gets, the better. Smith will still be a solid back-up none the less.

Flacco has looked like a typical rookie.. He's made some mistakes, but he's shown some flashes and his team has won some games, so you can't really disagree with that. I think if he looked bad, didn't have the spirit of his team and the team wasn't winning, then yeah, but Flacco starting makes sense, even with the mistakes.

If the Ravens feel they have a legitimate shot at winning the division or getting to the playoffs and the only thing holding them back is Flacco, then maybe they would or should make a move, but I don't think that would be an issue. Would Troy really make that much of a difference?

Based on Sunday, I think the Ravens players took this announcement to mean, "We're giving up on this year and giving the rookie some experience ........."

Troy Smith looks pretty good right now. The coaches are sticking to their word though.

If I were players on the D like Ray Lewis, Suggs, and Reed I would be trying to get out of there. They have been far to good of a D for this entire decade to have had to deal with such a terrible offense that has constantly hurt their chances. When they are all out of there people will always sit back and wonder "what could have been", if some of those Ravens teams would have had some decent offensive teams.

I think it would be cool to see Ray Lewis play with the Eagles or the Giants. That would be kind of cool to watch.
