BAL Right from start, Flacco shows he’s a player

Quote:
OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP)—It’s time for Joe Flacco to say “I told you so.”

That would be out of character for the soft-spoken rookie, but there’s no question the Baltimore Ravens’ top draft pick was on target when he insisted that the best way for him to start his career as an NFL quarterback was on the field.

“How are you going to learn when you’re sitting?” Flacco said at the end of the preseason when someone suggested it might be wise for him to watch as an understudy on the sideline.

I'm surprised by some of the things Flacco has done. What does everyone else think about him?

I wouldn't crown him the crown jewel of the draft class yet. It's a long season and the guy is bound to make some big mistakes...he's a rookie after all. With that being said, I have been impressed by his play so far. He has shown that he has the arm to make every throw in the NFL and made some nice touch passes in that game against Pittsburgh.

The guy plays in the perfect system that will allow him to learn well on the job. The defense is dominant again and they have a solid running game. Waiting to see what he does the rest of the year but I am impressed thus far.

He has been very composed, and I think will turn out to be a pretty good qb.

Don't forget Cam Cameron. While he flopped as a head coach with the Dolphins, he's an excellent coordinator. Cameron's done a great job with this offense in my mind, especially on short notice with Flacco.
