Ravens First Day Grade

How would you grade the first day for the Ravens?

I have to give them a B+

They might have moved up a little too much to get Flacco, but they got him and that just scares me.

C+. They needed Flacco, but they gave up far too much for him. Look at where Brohm and Henne went. No doubt Flacco would've been there for them in the 20's. He'll be good for them, but they panicked.

Rice was not a need, but I like the pick. Should be getting Cam Cameron a valuable piece to run his offense.

I don't think they went too far up to get him at all. Look at what Carolina did with the next pick, they could have very well been looking quarterback. I also think you have to look at what Miami would have been able to do to get to 21-25 as well. They had legit concerns that someone would move up to grab him.

I'm going to go with a B+, mainly because I'm not a fan of the Ray Rice pick at all. I don't think he does much for them, especially with their still outstanding issues at corner and receiver.

I have the same concerns about this team, but I know why they went for it. Cameron is new, and wants to put his own system in. Rice fits it perfectly- Cameron wants two runningbacks, and he fits what the second guy is. The reasoning behind this is that Ryan can adapt, because his system has been implemented longer.

They traded with Oakland for Fabian Washington. Certainly will help when McAlister or Rolle goes down with an injury, but in a strong year for corners, they should have taken one early.
