BAL Total Hypothetical Scenario...

With McNair retiring today...how's this for a deal...

Derrick Mason and the Ravens second round pick to Dallas for the 28th overall selection to get, wait for it...a quarterback!

I think it's a possibility, especially if Atlanta passes on Ryan the first time around and someone gobbles him up in between 4 and 7...granted, only KC's interested in there, but someone behind them may want to move in front of the Ravens to get Ryan...

If it happens, call me Nostradamus Raiden, else wise...discuss anyways

Does Mason still hold that much value? Mason is 34... I could really see the Ravens trading up to get Matt Ryan now, though.

Going completely off the cuff here...maybe...if no one else is willing to swap, why not Mason? He'd be a productive second guy who the Cowboys could throw to to loosen coverage on TO potentially...

I think the water in Ohio must be bad or something......

How can you sit with a straight face and type a deal that includes Derrick Mason? lol

I'm guessing in your scenario, that the Ravens don't give value to Brohm at #8? There has also been speculation about Jets' interest in Ryan as well. Are you implying that they would keep the #8 and Mason and their 2nd rounder would get them #28? That seems like a one-sided deal. They would be better off trading back with a team like Denver, Arizona or Minnesota to acquire extra picks in later rounds and take Brohm in the teens. Denver would be able to leap-frog Cincy to get a shot at Sedrick Ellis, Minnesota would be able to jump up over Detroit and Denver for a shot at Derrick Harvey or Arizona could jump Detroit, Buffalo or New Orleans for a shot at the CB of their choice. Even Houston might make a deal to get a shot at the LT of their choice or at Mendenhall.

Yeah, don't mind me, I'm bored and a bit sick too...not just of studying for the exam I have in two hours, I mean actually sick...

And in this scenario, I am believing that the teams are buying the hype (however much crap I think it is) about Brohm...I think he's worth the 8th pick myself, much more so than Ryan.

Why do the Cowboys need a WR? Mason is a consistent, good route runner with soft hands. He's not the fastest guy but otherwise he's great. The only problem is he only has one or two years left in his gas tank. No way the Cowboys would bite on it.

Well, they're building for the win now scenario, and all signs point to them wanting to deal the 28th pick for a veteran wide receiver to give them a solid second or third option (counting Witten) in the passing game.
