And the Dolphins respond by releasing Joey Porter.

NE possibly???? They always like to go after veteran LB's like this.

A possible return to Pittsburgh???

How about the Ravens????

The Raiders are always an idea because Davis will pay the money.

Joey Porter should still have some pretty good football left in him for another team.

He'd be a backup in Pittsburgh. Not sure that's what Joey wants.

Never mind, he hasn't been released. Bizarre rules concerning salary caps beginning to surface.

He hates NE and has been very vocal about it....I can't see him landing here and changing his tune.

Both true. I don't see him playing for either team for both reasons. If I ranked every person in the world in likeliness to play for the Patriots, Joey Porter would probably be the last person on that list. The only way he comes back to Pittsburgh is if/when he has been relegated to a back-up role or to retire. I'm sure Joey still thinks he can start in this league, and he probably can, somewhere.

Well I just threw out a few teams out there that came to mind. I figured maybe he might want a return to Pittsburgh. He seemed to like it there and it wasn't a bad split up from what I remember. I figured if he felt he could still play a whole lot then he might like the idea even if he isn't the starter. You're probably right though.

And with NE, well I'm aware of his hatred of NE as well. You never know with players though. If it's the right deal where the money is right and it's a contender than anything can happen. I mainly threw Porter's name out there for NE, because he's their typical type of older veteran LB that they go after every off season.

Do the Jets need an outside LB upgrade by any chance?
