'Monday Night Football' analyst Jon Gruden agrees to multiyear contract extension with ESPN - ESPN (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4659441)

Gruden is staying with MNF, which probably eliminates him from a lot of the coaching talk. I think ND was probably the biggest job out there for him but they haven't even fired their current coach.

Still, what's this say when you have guys like Gruden and Cowher enjoying what they are doing as analysts and turning down opportunities to get back into the game? I think the assumption that these guys are willing to jump at the first new opportunity that comes their way and leave their analysts gigs is slowly fading away.

There is still speculation that if a team really wants him, and is willing to offer him more money AND buy out his ESPN contract, that he'll still coach. I love him on MNF, and think he should stay there. Its fun hearing him get so excited like he does because its genuine. Now if they could get rid of Jaws, it would be so awesome.

Good, cuz the Eagles coaching job doesn't look to be opening up for atleast another season or two. Gruden needs to stay accessible. :)
