Troy should put up more of a fight than Chas. So. did.

Not much more. I expect Tebow to play the entire first half this game to get some rhythm leading up to Tennessee next week. Brantley should get the entire 2nd half.

I expect this to be 49 to something before the half.

Well I was wrong, but the Gates are putting on a whooping 42-3. Looks like Tebow will stay in and get his stats padded.

This is why Meyer is a jerk. Up 42-3, he still has his starters in. This is how players get hurt.

49-3 after a Rainey TD. I'm guessing Meyer won't call off the dogs until it's 70-3.

You have got to be kidding me man. That is absolute crap.

Last week Meyer took out his starters at 28-0 with 8 mins left in the 2nd. He gave Tebow 2 possessions in the 2nd half for reps before a big game against Tennessee next week. He's thrown 39 total passes in 2 games and has played about 1 full game out of 2 games. Brantley's thrown 24 passes in 2 games.

Why does Meyer get such a bad rep but Mack Brown doesn't hear any **** for having McCoy throwing 47 FREAKING passes against Wyoming following his 30 pass effort against LA-Munroe. Texas' backup Gilbert has 8 total passes.

If you want to see what running up the score really is, watch the Tennessee game next weekend. That will be running up the score.

Umm, no he didn't. Tebow threw a TD pass to Hernandez to make it 35-0.

Brown doesn't get a pass either, but that doesn't make what Meyer did right. I don't buy the Tebow needs reps before the Tennessee game either. Tebow is a senior and doesn't need the reps to be ready. Getting more reps for Brantley would prepare him better for next season.

My bad on the score. It was still above the 8 minute mark in the 2nd quarter when we took him out.

That's fine. We have a very young/unproven receiving core, so the more game experience catches they get with Tebow throwing to them benefits everyone in getting the timing down. I still don't understand the big deal with keeping Tebow in. Tebow played 23 minutes in the first game. and 37 the 2nd game for a grand total of 60 total minutes in 2 games. Brantley's gotten the exact same time of 60 minutes.

Like I said in my previous post, if you really want to see Meyer run up the score, just wait for next week.

JoePa is good at that too. It just seems unnecessary to score that many points by leaving starters in or continuing to pass.

WTF?

How about you defend your own coach, and stop throwing other coaches under the bus huh?

First off, the Horns NEEDED those passes from McCoy to take control of the game.

Remember, Texas went on the road, instead of getting and easy home win, and were in a dog fight for most of the first half, until Colt drove them down the field to take the lead before half...then he added 3 more TD's, and that was it. It was 35-10 when he came out, which is a 25 point cushion(less than the 28 when Meyer pulled Tebow last week, LOL)...don't act like he was in there throwing the ball up 55-10 or something.

Now THAT'S crap:nono:

BTW, Mack Brown has the reputation of calling off the dogs too...he was actually criticized for NOT running up the score enough last year, like OU did. You'll see games where the Longhorns pretty much run the ENTIRE 4th quarter instead of passing, and even taking delay of games to prevent themselves from scoring when up by too much.

Oh, and you want to know why Gilbert only has 8 passes...it's because while the Horns would like to get Gilbert ready, they still run the ball more than pass, even with the 2nd stringers.

So how about you research this a little before throwing one of the Classiest coaches in all of college football in the same boat as guys who routinely run up the score? Okay:cool:

Doesn't that mean that they're running the ball at the end of the game? To me, that's kind of the opposite of running up the score.

Agreed.

Basically, I understand Gators frustration with people calling out Florida for running up the score...but he should have looked more closely before calling out Mack Brown, who's historically known for doing the opposite, even when it's detremental to his team(see last year when OU was doint just that, and Texas wasn't, lol).

We all know Meyer runs up the score. My problem with him is that the game was over at 42-3 and Tebow and both starting units remained on the field padding their stats.

I didn't see the game, so I don't know if that comletely accurate or not...

But if that is infact the case, then it's definately a questionable decision, especailly if Tebow had gotten hurt at some point after the score got that lopsided.

Gates was up 35-3 at the half. Tebow in the 3rd threw a td to make it 42-2. The starters remained in the game, a Rainey td run later made it 49-3. Thats when he called off the dogs. When it was 42-3, Troy's players looked frustrated, so all it would have took was for one them to hit Tebow late.

Come on Marvin.......Texas was up 34-10 when McCoy threw the TD pass to go up 41-10. That's seven passes in the fourth quarter alone for McCoy. Why not give those passes to Gilbert? Thirty-four to ten wasn't enough cushion before they took McCoy out?

I don't know that Mack Brown is unclassy, but 70-3 vs Colorado in the Big 12 championship? Routinely putting up 50-60 points on Baylor, Rice and UNT??
