since tonight's game left a bitter taste in my mouth, i decided to look back at some of the broncos recent drafts. The 2006 draft really stood out. For a guy who people say drafts poorly, shanahan might have had the best of the decade. check it out.

2006: (1) Cutler (2) Sheffler (4a) Marshall (4b) Dumervil (4c) Hixon (5) Kuper

fans of other teams, post what you think is your teams best draft of the decade. I'd like to see how this stacks up. Lets figure out what team had the best class of 00s.

I think the Chargers 2004 draft was pretty good.

1. Eli Manning
2. Igor Olshansky
3. Nate Kaeding
3. Nick Hardwick
4. Shaun Phillips
5. Dave Ball
5. Michael Turner
6. Ryan Krause
7. Ryon Bingham
7. Shane Olivea
7. Carlos Joseph

Then add in the trade that brought them Philip Rivers and the 2005 pick that landed Merriman. From that draft, you have 7 current starters, and 8 players who were at least a starter at one point in their career (since Olivea did start for the Chargers for a while). Only Krause, Ball and Joseph failed to really make an impact.

Then add in the fact that Manning, Kaeding, Hardwick and Turner have all been to Pro Bowls.

yeah that's pretty nasty. that might be #1. keep em coming though people. a top ten would be cool.

Can't remember all of the guys without looking it up but in Kubiak's first year the Texans got

Mario, Demeco, and Owen Daniels which was a pretty damn good draft.

Last season may end up being a good one as well with

Slaton and Duane Brown.

For the Bucs, it's either 2005 or '07.

The '05 draft is top heavy, we got Cadillac, Ruud and Alex Smith in that one.

I think the '07 draft will surpass it though.

1st - Gaines Adams - Hasn't had a breakthrough year yet, but fairly solid
2nd - Arron Sears - When healthy, he and Davin Joseph probably produce the best young guard duo in the league
2nd - Sabby Piscitelli - Had one year basically lost to injury, but is now becoming the starter
3rd - Quincy Black - With Crowell out, and Phillips moved back to safety until Tanard Jackson returns, Black will start at LB. And I don't think Phillips will overtake him later in the season
4th - Tanard Jackson - Aside from this little suspension he just incurred, he's quickly joining Ruud as the teams' best defensive player

It's really hard to argue with SD's draft. Three drafts I think are going to be really good before it's all said and done are the

2008 Dallas draft
1-Felix Jones
1-Mike Jenkins
2-Martellus Bennett
4-Tashard Choice
5-Orlando Scandrick

and

2006 KC
1-Tamba Hali
2-Bernard Pollard
3-Brodie Croyle
7-Jarrad Page

and 2008 KC
1-Glenn Dorsey
1-Branden Albert
2-Brandon Flowers
3-Jamaal Charles
3-Brad Cottam

Bengals best draft would be 2001

Justin Smith
Chad Johnson
Rudi Johnson
T.J.

But we'll have to see how this year's draft class does!

Funny because Bill Polian is known as a draft master and yet I'm having a hard time thinking of a year worth mentioning for the Colts. Plenty of quality players have been chosen over the years, but they don't usually come in bunches for the Colts.

I guess I'll just have to go with the 2008 Draft and hope the players develop in a way that makes me right.

2-Pollak
3-Wheeler
4-Tamme
5-Howard
6-Santi
6-Justice
6-Hart
6-Garcon
7-Richard

There aren't any major stars there (at least not yet), but I think there was a lot of depth added in that draft.

By the way, a great way to see your team's complete drafts for every season on one page is to go to: National Football League: NFL Draft History Full Draft - by Team (http://www.nfl.com/draft/history/fulldraft?teamId=2200&type=team)

Probably not the best we've mentioned, but one of the better ones I've seen: 2006 Houston Texans

1 1 Mario Williams DE North Carolina State
2 33 DeMeco Ryans MLB Alabama
3 65 Charles Spencer T Pittsburgh
3 66 Eric Winston T Miami (Fla.)
4 98 Owen Daniels TE Wisconsin
6 170 Wali Lundy RB Virginia
7 251 David Anderson WR Colorado State

Four very solid players out of that draft, and Charles Spencer was on his way to a good career before injuries derailed him.

I think this draft is going to be a great addition to the Cowboys and will keep them going fro several years...ALL those guys are big time contributors...

BUT how about the Draft Class that was the cornerstone of the current Cowboys teams.

1 DeMarcus Ware
1 Marcus Spears
2 Kevin Burnett
4 Marion Barber
4 Chris Canty
7 Jay Ratliff

Sure two of these players are on other teams(Canty and Burnett), but neithe was cut or let go for performance, they were too good and deserved more money than the Cowboys could pay.

But you got maybe the best Defensive player in the league right now, the starting RB, DE, and DT on a really good team this season, and a guys in Burnett and Canty that I've heard will start on their new teams.

That's a darn good draft class...but the Cowboys draft from last season is the more exciting one IMO.

I think you can throw AJ's draft from the next year in the mix as well.

1 12 Shawne Merriman OLB Maryland
1 28 Luis Castillo DE Northwestern
2 61 Vincent Jackson WR Northern Colorado
4 130 Darren Sproles RB Kansas State

5 164 Wesley Britt T Alabama
6 177 Wes Sims G Oklahoma
7 242 Scott Mruczkowski C Bowling Green State

Those top four are HUGE impact players, and selecting those types of players are hit or miss in MOST cases.

The last three is what hurts the class in 05, however Mruczkowski is still providing quality depth on the line, which is NOT expected of a 7th rounder. Britt and Sims never made it to SD's practice squad and were picked up off of waivers by other teams. I'm not too positive but I think Britt saw time on the Patriots o-line a few seasons ago...

Yeah, I think this has to be the best draft for the Cowboys. Ware and Barber alone beat out the Felix Jones and Mike Jenkins draft I say. Then you throw in guys like Ratliff and Canty.
