Josh Johnson is having a great camp, and with Byron Leftwich presumed to be leading the quarterback derby in Tampa Bay, is Luke McCown's job in jeopardy?

If your last name is McCown...your roster spot is always in jeopardy :D

I mentioned this a few days ago. I really like what Johnson has done, both last year and especially this year, and it looks like McCown will lose the starting role to Leftwich.

Yeah, this is very much a possibility.

Not a surprise usually the QB that losses the Vet battle ends up being cut anyway and Luke has proven nothing so why keep him. Josh and Josh are both good prospects so of course they will be the ones to get the go ahead. I can't see TB carrying more then 3 QBs this year. Lefty is a good backup hasn't looked all that good but still better then Luke. I was rooting for Luke but ether way I think they should go with Freeman week one anyway.

so, you want, our QB of the future to be shell shocked, and to become a head case, a'la David Carr? Because that is exactly what will happen.

This kid is no Matt Ryan, he's no Joe Flacco, he DOESN'T have the proper mindset or leadership skills to be ready to start for an NFL team, if he does try, he'll be humiliated. I like Freeman, I like his upside, but he's going to require some time to acclimate to the NFL, if he's not given that time, we will flush away any future the kid has.

Bingo, don't kill the kid's confidence just because you want to throw him into the fire right away.
